A Patron of the Nigeria Players Union, National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers NANPF, Hon Tajudeen Ajide, executive Chairman of Surulere Local Govt Council led a delegation of NANPF officials including the General Secretary of the Players Union, Austin Popo and the Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the Union Ex-International Tajudeen Disu, to commiserate with the family of late Prince Tony Eke ,who many has described as the doyen of grass root football in Nigeria during the Service of Songs ceremony yesterday at the Basket Ball Court of Navy Barrack Ajegunle

In a brief ceremony put together by Apapa Allsters FC, after the service of songs, to receive the NANPF delegation on behalf of the family, Hon Tajudeen Ajide, largely described by many as a man with the heart of gold, lived up to his usual characteristics by supporting late Tony Eke Family with the sum of one hundred thousand Naira, with a promise to give another two hundred and fifty thousand naira. Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, the NANPF Lagos State Council Chairman, who is also the supervisory Counsellor in charge of sports, Agric and special duty in Surulere local Govt Council extol the qualities of late Tony Eke whose commitment to the development of grass root football, using the platform of Yusfon to give majority of Nigeria ex internationals, including himself the Breakthrough in their football career., that the late Tony Eke has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill .
