The Nigeria Players Union, the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers,NANPF express great concern and disappointment over the club’s failure to pay injured Player Abubakar Shehu Musa, who claimed that the Management of Gombe Utd FC threatened to sack him from the Club, while he was in the Hospital treating the injury he sustained in the course of discharging his duty as a player for the team

It will be recalled that reacting to the player’s complaints to the union, NANPF wrote officially to the management of Gombe United FC precisely on the 24th of February 2019 to address the issue, which unfortunately the club has refused to address

The player who spent over seven weeks in the hospital treating his leg injury without any visit by any of the Club official drew the union’s attention to plans by the club to stop his salary which has been fulfilled according to complaint received yesterday from the player

In view of this inhuman treatment to the player and obvious infractions of the relevant provision’s of the player’s Contract, the NANPF demands Gombe United FC to pay the injured player his overdue and cost of his treatment within the next seven days, or the union Will request the LMC to stop the team from continuing in the ongoing NPFL season in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law
